The Highly Favoured Life was created by two sisters to provide encouragement and a new series of
biblical resources for Christian womanhood. Below is the story of our editors.
Callie Payne
Callie Shiflett Payne was born in Bloemfontein, South Africa. Her family served there as missionaries for five and a half years. At the age of four, God called her family to South Carolina where her dad pastored. She enjoyed attending church with her family and learning at the Christian school. Callie was saved at the age of seven.
In 2014, God moved the Shiflett family to Dundalk, Maryland. She has served in many of the ministries at Calvary Baptist Church. She graduated high school in 2020, and has set out on the entrepreneurial journey where she works full-time on her own small business, Callie Collections.
In the Summer of 2022, she married her childhood sweetheart, Isaiah. They now serve in various ministries at their local church. In addition to running her small business, Callie loves to sing and spend quality time with friends and family.
Marissa Patton
Marissa Shiflett Patton was saved at the age of six. At the time, she and her family were missionaries in South Africa. Marissa spent her childhood as a very happy missionaries kid.
When she was nine, her family moved to South Carolina were she was actively involved in church ministries and attended Christian school. The summer before her senior year, her family moved to Maryland. She completed her high school degree at Calvary Baptist School. She attended college. There, she met her husband, Nathan Patton.
Nathan and Marissa are currently serving as missionaries in the Philippines. Marissa enjoys reading, writing, and being a mom to her son, Landon.
